We believe
- Your information belongs to you.
- Data should be collected and processed only when absolutely necessary to enable communication between you and us.
- We hate spam as much as you do.
- We will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public your personal information.
Relevant legislation
Our business, including our internal systems and this website, has been designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect and why
This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:
Site visitation tracking
We use Google Analytics (GA) to better understand what visitors do when the come to our website. Like most websites, we look at:
- how people got to our site
- their journey through the site
- how long they stay
- what page they were on when they left to better understand how we can help people find what they are looking for. Although GA records basic data on geographical location, type of device, browser, and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA does record a computer’s IP address, which could be used to identify you. Google does not provide us access to this information. For us, Google is a third-party data processor.
Analytics Cookies
GA uses cookies to remind our site when someone makes a return visit. You can find more information about cookies in Google’s developer guide.
If you do not want to be tracked using cookies, you can disable them in your web browser. This will prevent GA from tracking any part of your visit to our website.
Contact forms
If you use any of the forms on our website – including forms to reserve a table, make a general comment or enquiry, or request a proposal for a wedding – none of the data you give us will be stored by our website or passed to any of the third-party processors we use for other functions.
Room Reservations
Online room reservations use the services and networks of the Marriott partner network. The reservation system is maintained by Marriott and the use, retention, and privacy of data you supply during the room reservation process is solely governed by Marriot’s privacy and data policy.
Email newsletter
If you choose to join our email newsletter, the email address that you submit to us will be forwarded to Mailchimp. We consider Mailchimp to be a third-party data processor.
The use of your information – including your name and email address – are subject to Mailchimp’s data privacy and protection policies which may differ from ours.
If you are under 16 years of age you must obtain parental consent before subscribing to our email newsletter.
Third-Party data processors
We use the services of a number of other companies. Using these services may include the exchange and processing of data. We have chosen these companies carefully.
While all of them comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), each company has its own privacy policy.
- Twitter Privacy policy
- Microsoft Privacy policy
- Facebook Privacy policy
- Mailchimp Privacy policy
- Instagram Privacy policy
Cookie policy
A “cookie” is a tiny element of data that our site can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer’s hard drive.
We use three types of cookies:
-
Essential cookies
These cookies are necessary for the running of websites. Without these cookies parts of our website would not function. Session cookies, for example, help ensure a consistent experience that is optimized for your network speed and choice of device
-
Analytics cookies
This type of cookie allows us to collect data about how our website functions and how someone uses it. Analytics cookies, for example, tell us which pages are most popular. They help us see patterns of use at a high level and are not linked to a single individual
-
Tracking, advertising cookies
We may use these types of cookies to provide advertisements aligned with your interests based on your previous web browsing activity. Generally these cookies are used in partnership with a third-party data processor who also places ads for other websites in their network.
These cookies may also be based on your general location, advertisements you have engaged with on other sites, and similar interactions on our website.
If you are concerned about your privacy and the use of cookie technology on our website, you may change your browser settings to refuse cookies that our site attempts to send you. Declining to accept cookies from our site may limit the functionality we can provide when you visit the Inn’s site.
Data breaches
We will report any unlawful data breach of our website within a reasonable time to all relevant people and authorities if it is clear personally identifiable information has been stolen.
Changes to our privacy and data policy
The Inn’s privacy and data policies may change from time to time to conform with new legislation or align with industry standards.
We will not explicitly inform our guests or site visitors of these changes. This policy will always be available on our site. If you have concerns we recommend you revisit it periodically to determine if we have made any changes.
Changes to the privacy and data policies of any of our third-party data processors or with our partner network and communication about those changes are solely responsibility of those entities.
